IndiaOne Air has made a significant commitment to the grieving family of Susanta Kumar Biswal. The airline's CEO announced on Sunday that the company will provide a job to the elder son of the passenger who tragically passed away following a recent crash-landing incident near Rourkela.
Compensation Package Announced
The CEO personally informed family members about the compensation plan. According to reports, the airline will provide Rs 4.5 lakh along with insurance benefits as per standard regulations. This financial support aims to help the family during this difficult period.
Family Background and Demands
Susanta Kumar Biswal was a 47-year-old crane supervisor who lived in the Vedvyas Nadiatola area of Rourkela. He was the only son of his parents and leaves behind his wife, two sons aged 22 and 15 years, and his mother who resided with the family.
His elder son is currently pursuing an MCA degree at a private institute in Bhubaneswar. The younger son studies in Class X. Family members and relatives gathered at the hospital on Sunday where Biswal's body was kept in the morgue.
They presented specific demands to IndiaOne Air representatives. The family requested that the airline cover educational expenses for both children. They also asked for monthly compensation for the family in addition to employment for the elder son.
Crash Incident Details
The tragic sequence of events began on January 10 when Biswal traveled to Bhubaneswar for medical treatment. He was returning to Rourkela with his sister, Anita Sahu, aboard a nine-seater IndiaOne Air aircraft.
During the flight, the plane experienced a technical malfunction. The aircraft scraped against a high-tension wire before making a forced landing in a field at Kainser village near Gadiatola of Jalda block. This location sits approximately 10 kilometers from Rourkela.
All four passengers aboard the flight sustained injuries, including Biswal. Both pilots also suffered injuries in the incident. Despite receiving medical treatment, Biswal's condition deteriorated and he succumbed on Saturday.
Investigation and Cleanup Progress
The IndiaOne Air CEO provided additional updates about the crash investigation. He confirmed that wreckage clearance operations are currently underway. The aircraft debris will be transported to Bhubaneswar within the next two to three days.
A thorough investigation into the crash incident has been initiated. Authorities expect to release an interim report within one month. This report should provide preliminary findings about what caused the technical failure and subsequent emergency landing.
The airline's response represents a direct acknowledgment of responsibility toward the affected family. By offering employment to the elder son and financial compensation, IndiaOne Air attempts to address both immediate and long-term concerns of the bereaved family members.
