No. 03/2026 for the selection of 660 Management Trainees in E-1 Grade. The online application window closes today, and candidates must submit their forms through the official website coalindia.in. CIL contributes nearly 75% of India's coal production and employs around 2.12 lakh personnel. This recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies across multiple engineering and specialist disciplines through a Computer-Based Test (CBT) without an interview stage.

Vacancy Distribution and Disciplines

The 660 vacancies are distributed among nine disciplines. The largest intake is in Electrical with 221 posts, followed by Civil with 178, Mechanical with 145, System with 43, Electronics & Communication with 38, Geology with 15, Industrial Engineering with 11, Rajbhasha with 5, and Company Secretary with 4 posts.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must possess a B.Tech or a degree in the relevant discipline as specified in the notification. The upper age limit is 30 years as of April 30, 2026, with relaxation applicable as per government rules. The application fee is ₹1,180 for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, which includes ₹1,000 plus ₹180 GST, payable online. SC, ST, PwBD, and CIL employees are exempted from the fee.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

Selection will be based solely on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), followed by document verification and a medical examination. The CBT consists of two papers: Paper-I covers General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and English Language; Paper-II covers Professional Knowledge related to the respective discipline. Each paper carries 100 questions and 100 marks, with a total duration of three hours. There is no negative marking. The exam will be bilingual in English and Hindi, with qualifying marks set as per CIL norms.

Salary and Service Bond

Selected candidates will receive a pay scale of ₹60,000 to ₹1,80,000 in E-1 Grade, with an initial pay of ₹60,000. Allowances include Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, performance-related pay, medical facilities, and pension benefits as per company rules. Candidates must sign a service bond of ₹3,00,000 for 60 months, with monthly deductions during the service period.
