SBI Patna Circle Hosts Major Credit Camp for Jeevika Self-Help Groups

The State Bank of India (SBI), Patna circle, successfully organized a large-scale credit camp specifically for Jeevika self-help groups in Motihari on Thursday. This significant financial initiative resulted in the disbursement of loans totaling an impressive Rs 350 crore to various groups across the entire circle.

Massive Participation and Regional Contribution

More than 1,700 Jeevika didis actively participated in the camp, demonstrating strong engagement from the women's self-help groups. Additionally, several branches of the bank joined the program remotely through video conferencing, expanding its reach. As part of the ceremonial proceedings, symbolic cheques were distributed among the beneficiaries to mark the financial support. Notably, the regional business office located in Motihari made a substantial contribution of Rs 51 crore to the overall disbursement amount.

Comprehensive Financial Services and Product Display

The event was not limited to loan disbursements; it also featured extensive financial services support. Ten customer service points were established to conduct essential banking work for the beneficiaries, including re-KYC processes, KYC updates, and other related financial services. Furthermore, ten stalls were set up by the Jeevika groups to showcase and display a variety of handmade products meticulously prepared by the women members, highlighting their entrepreneurial skills and craftsmanship.

Social Responsibility Initiative

On this occasion, SBI also demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by donating a fully-equipped ambulance to the Red Cross Society in Motihari. This philanthropic gesture underscores the bank's dedication to supporting community welfare and healthcare infrastructure in the region.
