Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM) has announced that it has achieved a placement rate of nearly 95 per cent for its 2024-26 batch as of May 14, 2026. The placement season is still ongoing, and the institute expects the figure to improve further in the coming weeks.
Placement Highlights
The average salary offered to students stood at approximately ₹16.5 lakh per annum (LPA), while the median salary was ₹15.2 LPA. The top 10 per cent of the batch received an average package of ₹28 LPA. Over 100 companies participated in the placement drive, including prominent names such as Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Accenture, Amazon, and HDFC Bank.
Diverse Roles and Sectors
Students were placed across various sectors including consulting, finance, information technology, marketing, and operations. Consulting emerged as the top sector, accounting for 30 per cent of total offers, followed by finance (25 per cent) and IT (20 per cent). Roles offered included management trainee, business analyst, financial analyst, and brand manager.
International Placements
A notable aspect of this year's placements was the increase in international offers. Around 8 per cent of the batch received job offers from overseas companies based in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe. The highest international package was ₹35 LPA.
Director's Statement
Dr. Sanjay Srivastava, Director of LBSIM, expressed satisfaction with the placement outcomes. He said, "We are delighted with the response from the corporate world. The nearly 95 per cent placement rate is a testament to the quality of our students and the rigorous academic curriculum. We are confident that the remaining students will also secure offers soon."
Internship and Pre-Placement Offers
In addition to final placements, many students secured pre-placement offers (PPOs) based on their summer internship performance. Over 40 per cent of the batch received PPOs from companies such as Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and PwC. The institute also reported a 100 per cent internship placement for the batch.
Ongoing Season
The placement season remains live, with several companies still in the process of interviewing candidates. LBSIM expects to reach 100 per cent placement in the near future. The institute's placement cell continues to engage with new recruiters to ensure every student gets an opportunity.
