The Chandigarh Police have registered multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) against owners and employees of several immigration firms based in the city. These firms are accused of defrauding job seekers of approximately ₹1 crore through fraudulent visa schemes. The cases have been filed at the Sector 17 police station, and investigations are currently underway.
Details of the Fraud Cases
In one of the cases, Mora Singh, a resident of Tarn Taran, has alleged that Anubhav Garg, who runs World Walk Immigration Company in Sector 17, took Rs 14.85 lakh from him. Garg promised to arrange a work visa for Singh to go abroad but neither secured the visa nor returned the money.
Another complainant, Kawaljeet Singh from Gurdaspur, reported that Iqbal Singh Sandhu, the owner of The Visa Capital in Sector 17, allegedly duped him of Rs 12.47 lakh. Sandhu had promised to obtain a visa but failed to deliver.
Kapil Kumar, a resident of Panipat, has accused Shantanu Sharma of Sky High Abroad Consultant Immigration Company of taking around Rs 5 lakh from him for a work visa. Sharma did not arrange the visa and refused to refund the amount.
Multiple FIRs Against Nexus Glide Immigration
The police have also registered three separate FIRs against Nexus Glide Immigration Company, also located in Sector 17. The firm is alleged to have defrauded multiple victims of approximately Rs 50 lakh in total.
Satbir Singh from Karnal alleged that Mandeep Singh and other representatives of the firm cheated him of Rs 14.92 lakh under the pretext of arranging a visa. Similarly, Akashdeep Singh of Sangrur claimed that Rs 16.91 lakh was taken from him, while Aditya, a resident of Ambala, stated that he was cheated of Rs 15.85 lakh. In all these cases, the firm promised work visas but failed to provide them.
Ongoing Investigation
Police officials have stated that further investigations are in progress to verify all allegations and to identify any additional victims who may have been targeted by these immigration firms. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
