Trump Announces Iran's Nuclear Weapon Pledge Amid Ongoing Negotiations
Trump: Iran Agrees Not to Have Nuclear Weapon in Talks

US President Trump Declares Iran's Commitment to Forgo Nuclear Weapons

In a significant development, US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that Iran has agreed not to possess nuclear weapons, as part of ongoing diplomatic discussions. Speaking at the Memphis Safe Task Force Roundtable, Trump highlighted the progress in talks, which he described as "very good" and aimed at achieving peace.

Details of the Negotiations and Military Postponement

Trump revealed that based on preliminary conversations over the past two days, he has directed the Department of War to temporarily postpone planned strikes against major energy and electricity targets in Iran. This decision is part of Operation Epic Fury, intended to assess the potential for a broader agreement. He emphasized that Iran now has one more opportunity to end its threats to America and its allies, expressing hope for a deal beneficial to all parties, including Middle Eastern allies like Israel.

Trump stated, "We are now having really good discussions. They started last night, a little bit the night before that. I think they're very good. They want peace. They've agreed they will not have a nuclear weapon. But we'll see. Hopefully, we can make a deal that's good for all of us, including the Middle Eastern allies that have been very good to us, including Israel, which has been a great partner in this fight. But we'll see what happens. I think there's a very good chance we're going to end up in a deal."

Military Actions and Dismantling of Iranian Capabilities

In his remarks, Trump detailed extensive military actions against Iran, claiming that the US has annihilated Iran's defence industrial base, eliminated its Navy and Air Force, and destroyed all air defence systems. He noted that leadership changes in Iran have left the position undesirable, with no one willing to take on the role. Trump asserted that these measures are systematically dismantling the regime's ability to threaten America, fulfilling his sacred responsibility as Commander-in-Chief to protect the country.

He explained, "We've annihilated their defence industrial base, eliminating their Navy. We eliminated their Air Force. We eliminated all of their air defence. Everything. We eliminated their leaders. Then the second set, 88 people, met to pick a new leader. And they're now extinguished. And then they're meeting again. But now nobody wants to be the leader. It's one of the few political jobs that nobody wants anywhere in the world. Nobody wants it."

Iran's Rejection of Trump's Claims

Contrary to Trump's statements, Speaker of Iran's Parliament, MB Ghalibaf, slammed the US President on Monday, rejecting claims of ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington. Ghalibaf asserted that no such talks have taken place and accused Trump of making these remarks to manipulate financial and oil markets, which have been disrupted amid the conflict.

This rejection adds a layer of complexity to the situation, highlighting the ongoing tensions and differing narratives between the two nations. The developments underscore the volatile nature of US-Iran relations and the potential implications for global stability and market dynamics.
