World Blood Donors Day: 365 units collected in Jamshedpur

The East Singhbhum district branch of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) in Jamshedpur marked World Blood Donors Day by organizing blood donation camps at three different locations. These camps were set up at Red Cross Bhawan in Sakchi, Jal Jyoti Foundation in Baliguma, and Prakash Castings in the Industrial Area of Adityapur.

Record Collection of Blood Units

A remarkable total of 365 units of blood was collected during these camps. From early morning, blood donors from across the city lined up to contribute, showcasing a strong spirit of community service.

Participation of Security Forces

A notable aspect of the event was the active involvement of personnel from the local Army unit, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the Railway Protection Force (RPF). They turned out in large numbers to donate blood, adding to the success of the drive.

The blood donation camp was conducted in accordance with guidelines issued by the World Health Organization (WHO). The theme for this year's event was “One Drop of Humanity – Give Blood – Save Lives,” emphasizing the critical role of blood donation in saving lives.
