A joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has dismantled an international drug syndicate operating from a rented house in Sikandra, Agra. The team arrested four individuals, including a mother-son duo, on Wednesday night.
Seizure of High-Value Narcotics
The authorities seized 1 kilogram of premium "OG" cannabis, sourced from California, United States, valued at approximately ₹1.06 crore. Additionally, 147 grams of MDMA, worth ₹16 lakh, were recovered. The haul also included five mobile phones containing incriminating WhatsApp chats and contact numbers linking the syndicate to global suppliers.
Arrested Individuals
The arrested individuals have been identified as Nanhi Devi, her son Jitendra Prajapati, Prem Kumar Prajapati, and Babloo Sharma. According to police, the high-end drugs were procured from a Delhi-based dealer named Kushagra, who is currently believed to be operating out of Thailand. The narcotics were intended for local distribution in Agra and Mathura.
Operation Expansion
Police investigations revealed that Nanhi Devi initially sold local cannabis in Vrindavan. The operation expanded internationally through her late son-in-law, Saurabh. Following his death in a road accident last year, Devi and her sons took over the international smuggling route, establishing connections with overseas suppliers.
Legal Proceedings
All four accused have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Sikandra police station. Further investigation is underway to trace the full network and apprehend other suspects, including Kushagra.
This bust highlights the growing nexus between local drug peddlers and international cartels, with Agra emerging as a transit point for high-value narcotics. The STF and ANTF continue to monitor and crack down on such operations to curb drug trafficking in the region.
