A 36-year-old contract railway worker named Sachin sustained injuries after a goods train collided with a track trolley on the Edakumeri–Shirabagilu railway section in Sakleshpur taluk on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when Sachin and his team were returning to their camp after completing maintenance work on a trolley, commonly referred to as a dolly.

Details of the Incident

According to reports, the workers had finished their maintenance duties and were heading back on the trolley inside a tunnel. As they noticed an approaching goods train, they quickly moved the trolley off the track to avoid a direct collision. However, as the train passed through the tunnel, it struck the trolley, causing it to rebound and hit Sachin, leaving him injured.

Immediate Medical Response

Co-workers immediately rushed Sachin to Sakleshpur Taluk Hospital, where he received first aid. He was later shifted to Hassan District Hospital for advanced treatment. Doctors attending to him confirmed that his condition was stable and that he was out of danger.

Railway authorities have taken note of the incident, and the divisional railway manager (DRM) has ordered an inquiry.
