Punjab Police Arrest BKI Associates, Seize Grenades

Punjab Police's counter-intelligence wing arrested two suspected associates linked to foreign-based handlers of the banned terror outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) in Amritsar. Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav announced on Tuesday that two hand grenades were seized from the accused.

Conspiracy to Target Government Institutions

The DGP stated that the grenades were allegedly part of a larger conspiracy aimed at targeting government institutions and key infrastructure to disrupt peace and law and order in the state. Security agencies suspect that the accused were operating under directions from handlers based abroad and were actively involved in terror-related activities.

Legal Action Initiated

An FIR has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell, Amritsar, under provisions of the Explosive Substances Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The police are conducting further investigations to uncover the full extent of the conspiracy and identify other possible associates.
