A tragic road accident claimed the life of a man in Kurukshetra district early Tuesday morning as he was heading to celebrate Eid. The incident occurred near the Shahbad police station area when the motorcycle he was riding rammed into a stationary truck.
Details of the Accident
The deceased, identified as 35-year-old Rashid, a resident of nearby village, was on his way to offer Eid prayers when the mishap took place. According to the police, the truck was parked on the roadside without proper warning signs, leading to the collision. Rashid sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot.
Police Investigation Underway
Upon receiving information, a police team from Shahbad reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident. Authorities have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the matter. The vehicle has been impounded.
Eid celebrations in the region were marred by the tragedy, with the victim's family and community mourning the loss. This incident highlights the need for stricter enforcement of road safety measures, especially during festive seasons when traffic increases.
