Israel Launches Extensive Military Strikes Across Iran
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Friday that it conducted a major military operation involving over 70 strikes across western and central Iran on Thursday. According to official statements, these strikes specifically targeted ballistic missile launch sites and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) facilities belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
Targeted Military Infrastructure
The IDF detailed that the operations were designed to degrade Iran's military capabilities and reduce direct threats to Israeli civilians. The targeted infrastructure included multiple missile launch facilities, UAV storage locations, and air defense systems. In a comprehensive post on social media platform X, the IDF stated, "Over the past day: The IDF completed more than 70 strikes in western and central Iran targeting ballistic missile launch sites and unmanned aerial vehicles. The IDF continues to strike nonstop at the fire and defense arrays of the Iranian terror regime across Iran."
The military further explained that the Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, executed these strikes targeting dozens of objectives associated with what Israel describes as the Iranian terror regime. Among the specific infrastructures struck were launch sites storing ballistic missile launchers that threaten Israel, sites housing UAVs of the Air Force in the Revolutionary Guards, and various air defense array locations.
Prime Minister Netanyahu's Statements
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu provided additional operational updates through a video message shared by his office. He claimed significant damage to Iran's industrial capacity, stating, "Together with our American friends, we are continuing to crush the terrorist regime in Iran. We are eliminating commanders and bombing bridges and infrastructure. In recent days, the Air Force has destroyed 70 percent of Iran's steel production capacity."
Netanyahu described these strikes as a tremendous achievement that deprives the Iranian Revolutionary Guards of both funding sources and the ability to produce large quantities of weapons. He emphasized full coordination between Israeli and United States military forces in these ongoing operations.
Expanded Regional Operations
Regarding other conflict zones, Netanyahu addressed operations in Lebanon, stating, "In Lebanon, we are continuing to forcefully strike at Hezbollah. We are continuing to expand the security zone and firmly establish it in order to protect the communities of the North." He also expressed gratitude to Israeli citizens for their support and adherence to Home Front Command instructions, even during significant cultural events like the Passover Seder, urging continued compliance.
The broader conflict in the Middle East has now entered its second month, with these strikes representing a significant escalation in military actions between Israel and Iran. The operations highlight ongoing tensions and the strategic targeting of military infrastructure to counter perceived threats.
