Israel Destroys Over 80 Hezbollah-Linked Structures in Southern Lebanon Defence Operation

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday that they have destroyed more than 80 sites associated with Hezbollah during a forward defence operation in southern Lebanon. This significant military action was part of targeted raids conducted by the 300th Brigade under the command of the 146th Division.

Targeted Raids and Infrastructure Destruction

In a post on social media platform X, the IDF detailed that the operation aimed to dismantle Hezbollah's infrastructures in the region. Over the past week, forces successfully eliminated two operatives who emerged from hiding, in addition to destroying the terror-linked structures. The IDF emphasized that these efforts are ongoing to strengthen the forward defence line and prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities.

Escalation and Retaliatory Strikes

The updates come amid heightened tensions, as Hezbollah launched dozens of rockets toward Israel on Tuesday night. In response, the IDF began evacuating residents of the city of Tyre and struck weapons storage facilities and headquarters located within civilian populations. Overnight, additional assets of Al-Qard al-Hassan, described by the IDF as the financial arm of Hezbollah used to pay salaries and advance terror plots, were targeted in Beirut.

Elimination of Hamas Commander

In a related development, the IDF also mentioned the elimination of Yahya Abu-Labda, a commander in Hamas's supply department. Abu-Labda was responsible for procuring and transporting military equipment, including raw materials for rocket production and electronic components used in the October 7 attack. This action underscores Israel's broader counter-terrorism efforts in the region.

The wave of strikes targeting Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon marks a continued escalation in defence operations, as Israel works to secure its borders and disrupt terror activities.
