A devastating fire broke out near Kherli Hafizpur village, adjacent to Dankaur railway station in Noida, on Monday, destroying approximately 25 shanties and leaving numerous families homeless. The flames spread rapidly through the cluster of temporary shelters, forcing residents to flee for safety while clutching whatever belongings they could salvage.

Rapid Spread of Fire

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire engulfed the shanties within minutes, leaving residents with little to no time to rescue their possessions. Thick smoke and towering flames were visible from a considerable distance, creating panic and chaos in the locality. Residents initially attempted to control the blaze on their own, but their efforts proved futile as the flames intensified quickly.

Firefighting Efforts

The fire department and local police were alerted promptly. By the time firefighters arrived at the scene, most of the shanties had already been reduced to ashes. Five fire tenders were deployed, and firefighters worked tirelessly for nearly two hours to bring the blaze under control. Pradeep Kumar, Chief Fire Officer of Gautam Buddha Nagar, stated, "Approximately 20 to 25 huts were found on fire at the site.
