A tragic road accident near Punganur in Chittoor district claimed the lives of a middle-aged couple on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Ameer (48) and Salma (40), according to police. Their 19-year-old son, Mustakhir, sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to the government hospital in Punganur for treatment.
Details of the Accident
Preliminary investigations revealed that Ameer was traveling from Madanapalle to Eedigapalli on a motorcycle with his wife and son. Near Eedigapalli, a speeding SUV collided with their bike at high speed, resulting in the instant death of both Ameer and Salma.
Immediate Response
Locals, with the help of police, rushed Mustakhir to the government hospital in Punganur for medical care. The Punganur police have registered a case and are conducting further investigations. Police informed Ameer's relatives in Madanapalle about the incident and will hand over the couple's bodies after postmortem formalities are completed.
