The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted multi-district searches across the Kashmir Valley on Wednesday as part of an ongoing probe into terror networks. The searches were carried out simultaneously at seven locations spanning six districts, including two in Srinagar and one each in Bandipora, Kupwara, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Sopore.
Details of the Operation
According to officials, the searches were conducted early in the morning and were focused on dismantling suspected terror modules operating in the region. The CIK teams, supported by local police, cordoned off the targeted areas and conducted thorough searches of residential and commercial premises.
While no arrests have been reported so far, authorities have recovered incriminating materials, including electronic devices and documents, which are being analyzed. The operation is part of a larger crackdown on terror financing and recruitment networks in the Union Territory.
Ongoing Investigation
This is not the first such operation by the CIK in recent weeks. The agency has intensified its efforts to curb terror activities following intelligence inputs about the regrouping of militant outfits. The searches are aimed at gathering evidence and identifying individuals linked to terror groups.
Local residents reported a heavy presence of security forces in the areas, with movement restricted during the operation. However, no untoward incidents were reported, and the searches concluded peacefully.
