Jhunjhunu: A wave of fear swept through the Sikar collectorate on Monday after a threatening email warned of an explosion using explosives. The email was sent to the official ID of District Collector Ashish Modi around 11:30 AM, prompting immediate evacuation of the building as a precautionary measure.
Officials and staff were moved outside while security teams rushed to the scene. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh confirmed that teams from Kotwali, Udyog Nagar, and Gokulpura police stations, along with the Reserve Sub Inspector (RSC), reached the collectorate. Civil defence personnel, fire brigade units, and ambulance services were also deployed to ensure safety.
Police conducted an intensive search operation lasting nearly two hours, but no suspicious objects or explosive materials were found. After the premises were declared safe, officials and employees were permitted to re-enter the building.
Notably, the Sikar passport office had received similar bomb threats on three earlier occasions, raising concerns about repeated security breaches. Authorities are investigating the latest threat to identify the sender and prevent future incidents.
