The body of a 16-year-old girl, who had been missing since Sunday evening from Sanjeet town in Mandsaur district, was recovered from a local pond on Monday afternoon. The recovery followed a coordinated rescue operation involving local divers and the State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF).
Details of the Incident
The minor, identified as Chetana, left her home at approximately 5:00 PM on Sunday. When she failed to return, her family initiated a search and discovered her slippers abandoned near the edge of the pond close to the Sanjeet bus stand.
Search and Rescue Operations
The Nahargarh police launched a search operation on Sunday evening with local divers. The SDERF was subsequently brought in to assist. The teams conducted a search until 10:30 PM, when low visibility forced them to suspend operations. The joint rescue team resumed operations on Monday morning. Divers recovered the body at 12:15 PM after an intensive search.
