Western Disturbance Influences Weather Across Gujarat, Fresh System on Horizon
The city of Ahmedabad, along with most regions of Gujarat, witnessed partly cloudy skies on Sunday as the lingering effects of a Western Disturbance continued to impact parts of north India. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a new Western Disturbance is set to affect northwest India starting April 7, potentially altering weather patterns further.
Temperature Trends in Ahmedabad and Key Cities
In Ahmedabad, Sunday's maximum temperature reached 35 degrees Celsius, which was 3.4 degrees below the normal level for this time of year. The minimum temperature recorded was 22.2 degrees Celsius, also 0.3 degrees below normal. The IMD has forecast that Monday's maximum temperature in Ahmedabad is likely to remain around 35 degrees, with no significant changes expected across Gujarat in the coming days. However, some parts of the state could experience light showers on Tuesday, adding a slight variation to the otherwise stable conditions.
Regional Temperature Highlights
Across Gujarat, Rajkot recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36.3 degrees Celsius, followed by Surendranagar at 35.8 degrees and Bhuj at 35.3 degrees. These readings indicate a relatively mild weather pattern compared to typical seasonal averages, largely attributed to the ongoing Western Disturbance influence.
The IMD's alert for a fresh Western Disturbance from April 7 suggests that residents in northwest India, including Gujarat, should stay updated on weather developments, as this could lead to further cloud cover and potential precipitation in the region.
