Officials at the regional meteorological centre in Dehradun issued this forecast on Sunday, following widespread precipitation recorded across the state on January 23.

Most districts in Uttarakhand are expected to be impacted by this weather system. Lower and mid-altitude areas are likely to experience rain, while higher Himalayan regions are forecast to receive snowfall. Additionally, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are anticipated at isolated places, raising concerns for residents.
Tuesday's Weather Predictions
On Tuesday, several districts including Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Tehri Garhwal, Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar are likely to encounter thunderstorms with lightning, hail, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph. Light to moderate rain and snowfall are also expected in most parts of the state, with snowfall specifically predicted for areas above 2,500 meters. Districts such as Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, and Almora are likely to receive both rain and snowfall during this period.
Wednesday's Weather Outlook
On Wednesday, light to moderate rain and snowfall is forecast in many places within Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh. Meanwhile, very light to light precipitation may occur at a few places in other hilly districts. Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar may receive very light to light rain at isolated locations.

A senior official from the regional meteorological centre stated, "The weather activity is expected to weaken on Thursday, with very light to light rain and snowfall likely at isolated places in higher Himalayan districts, while dry conditions are expected to prevail in most other parts of the state." Officials have advised residents, particularly those living in high-altitude and vulnerable areas, to remain alert due to the possibility of strong winds, lightning, and snowfall. They urge the public to follow advisories issued by district administrations to ensure safety.
