Lucknow Weather: Pleasant Conditions Prevail with Light Rainfall
Residents of Lucknow enjoyed a refreshing change in weather on Friday as cloudy skies and light rain brought pleasant conditions to the city. The day temperature dropped significantly by five degrees Celsius, which also helped reduce humidity levels, making the atmosphere more comfortable.
Weather Patterns and Rainfall Details
The city woke up to cool winds that gradually intensified, leading to dark skies followed by light to moderate rainfall throughout the day. According to meteorological data, the maximum temperature recorded was 30.6 degrees Celsius, which is 4.6 degrees below the normal average for this time of year. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature settled at 22.1 degrees Celsius, marking a 4.3-degree increase above normal levels.
Senior scientist Mohammad Danish explained the weather phenomenon, stating, "A western disturbance hovering over Jammu and Kashmir and a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan brought light to moderate rainfall to several parts of the city." He noted that approximately 2mm of rainfall was recorded at the Amausi weather station during this period.
Unusual Weather Patterns for March
This rainfall event represents the second spell of precipitation in March, following previous showers on March 16. Danish highlighted that rain and thunderstorm activity has occurred more frequently this month due to an early onset of summer conditions. "The second half of February gave residents a feel of May and June with high temperatures, setting the stage for these weather patterns," he added.
The warmer night temperatures observed can be attributed to trapped daytime heat in the lower atmosphere, preventing ground-level heat from escaping effectively.
Weather Forecast for Coming Days
The India Meteorological Department has predicted continued cloudy skies for Saturday, with maximum and minimum temperatures expected around 30 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively. While Lucknow itself may experience partly cloudy conditions, isolated places across Uttar Pradesh could see rain or thundershowers.
Looking further ahead, weather officials anticipate the possibility of more rainfall on Monday and Tuesday, suggesting that the current pleasant conditions might extend into the early part of next week. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts as these patterns develop.
