Kukumseri in Lahaul Spiti claimed the title of the coldest place in Himachal Pradesh this Sunday. The day remained cloudy across the state's mid and high hills, but the predicted rain or snow failed to materialize.

According to the Meteorological Centre in Shimla, Kukumseri recorded a chilling minimum temperature of -2.5 degrees Celsius. Tabo followed closely with -0.9 degrees Celsius.

- Kalpa in Kinnaur: 2 degrees Celsius
- Hamirpur: 2.1 degrees Celsius
- Una: 2.7 degrees Celsius
- Sundernagar in Mandi: 2.8 degrees Celsius
- Solan: 3.8 degrees Celsius
- Mandi: 3.9 degrees Celsius
- Kangra: 4.8 degrees Celsius
- Bilaspur: 5 degrees Celsius
Tourist Destinations Feel the Chill
Popular tourist spots also experienced significant cold. Manali was the coldest among them, recording 2.1 degrees Celsius. Other destinations reported:
- Palampur: 3 degrees Celsius
- Shimla: 5.5 degrees Celsius
- Kufri: 5.3 degrees Celsius
- Kasauli: 7.1 degrees Celsius
Weather Forecast Updates
The weather department initially predicted light snow and rain for four days from January 16 to January 20 in the mid and high hills. However, the Meteorological Centre has now updated its forecast. They predict light to moderate rain and snow in these areas starting from January 22.
