Indore Sees 2.7°C Temperature Drop, Dense Fog Disrupts Morning Visibility
Indore Temperature Plunges, Dense Fog Covers City

Residents of Indore experienced a sharp shift in weather conditions on Sunday, waking up to a significantly cooler morning shrouded in dense fog. This marked a dramatic change from the relatively warmer and sunny days the city enjoyed just a week prior.

Significant Temperature Dip and High Humidity

According to data released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature recorded on Sunday was 22.3 degrees Celsius. This reading is notably 2.7 degrees Celsius below the normal seasonal average for this time of year. The minimum temperature settled at 11.8 degrees Celsius, which was 1.9 degrees above the normal mark.

The high humidity levels exacerbated the chilly feel. Humidity peaked at a staggering 96% during the early morning hours, creating thick fog. It remained high at around 83% by the evening, maintaining the damp, cold conditions throughout the day.

A Stark Contrast to Last Week's Weather

This week's foggy and cool spell presents a complete turnaround from the weather pattern observed around December 28-29. During that period, Indoreans basked in pleasant sunshine with clear skies. The maximum temperature was comfortably hovering between 26-27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum ranged from 14-15 degrees Celsius.

The shift has transformed the city's daily rhythm. Last week was ideal for outdoor activities, but this week has introduced challenging visibility issues, especially during morning commutes.

IMD Forecast and Warnings for the Coming Days

The IMD has issued a moderate fog warning for Monday, advising commuters to exercise extreme caution while traveling in the morning. The forecast for the upcoming week suggests that the misty conditions are likely to persist for several more days.

Meteorological experts attribute this transition to typical winter patterns in central India, where January often brings the coldest temperatures of the season. The forecast predicts daytime temperatures to fluctuate between 19 and 25 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures may range from 10 to 13 degrees Celsius.

No rainfall has been recorded in the past 24 hours, and dry conditions are expected to continue throughout the week. However, the persistent morning fog is likely to remain a key feature, affecting visibility and daily routines in Indore.
