Kochi: Ernakulam district witnessed significant damage on Tuesday as heavy summer rain and strong winds lashed across the region. Approximately 10 houses were partially destroyed in various taluks, according to local authorities.
Damage Across Taluks
In Kothamangalam taluk, four houses were partially damaged due to the intense winds and rainfall. Muvattupuzha taluk and areas within Kochi city limits each reported two houses damaged. Tripunithura also saw two houses partially destroyed.
Incident Near Metro Station
In Tripunithura, tree branches fell on a parked car near the Tripunithura Metro station. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities have advised the public to remain vigilant as summer rains are expected to continue in the district over the coming days. Residents are urged to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors during heavy downpours.
