Hisar: Haryana is likely to witness intense heat conditions over the next few days, with the weather expected to remain largely dry until May 29, according to Professor Madan Khichar, head of the department of agricultural meteorology at Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University.
Hot Winds to Prevail Across State
The department stated that southwesterly hot winds are likely to prevail across the state during this period, leading to a further rise in daytime temperatures and increasing the possibility of heatwave conditions in several areas. Residents are advised to take necessary precautions against the scorching heat.
Expected Change from May 29 Night
However, a change in weather is expected from the night of May 29 onwards. Meteorologists have predicted the movement of a western disturbance towards the Himalayan region, along with the formation of a cyclonic circulation over Rajasthan. Due to its partial impact, most parts of Haryana may witness partly cloudy conditions between May 29 night and June 1.
During this period, dust-laden winds, thunder activity, drizzle, and light rainfall are likely at isolated places across the state. The department also forecast a slight dip in daytime temperatures, which may provide temporary relief from the prevailing heat.
Advice for Farmers and Public
The department advised farmers and the general public to remain cautious and keep track of weather updates in view of the changing conditions. It is recommended to stay hydrated and avoid direct exposure to the sun during peak hours.
