Forest department officials and local authorities arrived at the scene later that night. They recovered the body and completed necessary formalities before sending it for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

On Thursday morning, enraged villagers expressed their frustration by staging a road blockade at Kalyanpur on the Ambikapur–Pratappur main road.
