New Delhi: On Sunday, the national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 26.2 degrees Celsius, which is 2.4 degrees below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has forecast a partly cloudy sky for the day and issued an orange alert, warning of heatwave-like conditions in isolated areas by the evening.

Temperature and Humidity Details

The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 44 degrees Celsius, the weather office stated. Humidity levels were measured at 43 per cent at 8:30 am.

Air Quality Remains a Concern

The air quality in Delhi continued to be a worry, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 223 at 9 am, placing it in the 'poor' category. This data comes from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). According to the CPCB's classification, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
