Cold wave conditions and fog continue to affect parts of Madhya Pradesh. In Bhopal, residents faced a chilly night and a warmer day on Saturday. The night temperature dropped below normal levels, while the day temperature rose above the usual mark.

The meteorological department recorded specific data for Bhopal. On Saturday, the day temperature reached 27.7°C. This was three degrees above the normal mark. Meanwhile, the night temperature fell to 7.4°C, which is three degrees below normal. Shallow fog was observed in the city during this period.

Other areas in the state reported even colder conditions. Kalyanpur in Shahdol district recorded a minimum temperature of 3.0°C. Cold wave conditions were noted in Shahdol and Katni districts as well.

The forecast for Bhopal on Sunday predicts clear skies. However, shallow to moderate fog is expected in the morning hours. The day temperature is likely to be around 25°C. The night temperature may drop to 8°C. An average wind speed of 10 kmph is anticipated throughout the day.

At the state level, the meteorological department issued several warnings. A moderate fog warning covers multiple districts. These include Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Rewa, Satna, Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari.

A cold wave warning was also issued for specific districts. Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni, and Maihar districts are under this alert. Dry weather is expected to prevail across the entire state in the coming days.

The meteorological department provided insights into the current weather patterns. A western disturbance exists as a cyclonic circulation over Afghanistan and adjoining Pakistan. This system is located at 3.1 km above mean sea level.

Additionally, a trough aloft is present in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies. Its axis runs at 5.8 km above mean sea level. These atmospheric conditions contribute to the ongoing cold wave and fog across Madhya Pradesh.
