Fresh Western Disturbance to Bring Cold Spell to Indore, North MP After Makar Sankranti
Indore and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh should prepare for another cold spell. This weather change will likely hit after Makar Sankranti. A fresh western disturbance is affecting the western Himalayan region. It will bring cooler conditions to the area.
Met Department Predicts January 15 Impact
Divya Surendran from the Bhopal Met centre shared important details. She said the western disturbance's impact should begin around January 15. This system will influence weather patterns across the region.
Currently, a cyclonic circulation linked to this disturbance sits over Himachal Pradesh. It positions itself about 3.1 kilometers above mean sea level. Another upper-air cyclonic circulation lies over northwest Uttar Pradesh. This one floats at approximately 0.9 kilometers altitude.
Additionally, the subtropical westerly jet stream continues over north India. It operates at an altitude of around 12.6 kilometers. Core wind speeds reach between 185 and 250 kilometers per hour.
Recent Weather Stability in Madhya Pradesh
Despite these developing systems, Madhya Pradesh enjoyed stable weather recently. Over the last 24 hours, no cold wave or cold day conditions appeared anywhere in the state. Both west and east Madhya Pradesh experienced completely dry weather.
Moderate fog did appear in Khajuraho. However, no dense fog covered any part of the region during this period.
Indore's Current Weather Conditions
Indore witnessed clear skies and warmer daytime conditions. On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 28.8 degrees Celsius. This reading sits about 3 degrees above normal levels.
Night temperatures told a different story. They remained quite low. The minimum temperature settled at 9.5 degrees Celsius. This marks 1 degree below normal. The sharp contrast between day and night conditions became very noticeable.
Temperature Patterns and Forecast
Met observations show no significant temperature changes across Madhya Pradesh recently. Maximum and minimum temperatures stayed within normal ranges over the last 24 hours. No division reported unusual readings.
Met officials explain the current pattern. Clear skies over Madhya Pradesh allow strong sunshine during daytime hours. This sunshine pushes daytime temperatures higher. However, early morning and night hours continue feeling cold.
Dry weather will likely continue across the state for the next five days. Officials issued a warning for moderate fog in parts of the northern belt. This warning covers the next two days. After that period, conditions will be updated based on the western disturbance's progress.
Residents should monitor weather updates closely. The approaching system may bring noticeable changes to daily temperatures and conditions.
