Ahmedabad night temp at 15°C, IMD forecasts rise

The city of Ahmedabad experienced a notably warmer night on Sunday, with the mercury settling higher than the seasonal average. According to the latest data, the weather pattern in Gujarat is set for a shift, as forecasted by the meteorological department.

Ahmedabad's Temperature Deviation from the Norm

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) recorded Ahmedabad's minimum temperature at 15 degrees Celsius. This reading was significantly higher, standing at 2.7 degrees Celsius above the normal average for this time of year. In contrast, the day's maximum temperature was capped at 25.4 degrees Celsius, which was 2.5 degrees lower than the usual maximum.

IMD's Forecast for Gujarat

The weather bureau has predicted that the minimum temperature in Ahmedabad is likely to hover around the 15°C mark. For the broader state of Gujarat, the IMD has indicated a clear trend. The forecast suggests chances of a rise in the minimum temperature by 2°C to 3°C across many parts of the state. This warming trend is expected to persist for the next three days.

Cooler Spots in the State

While Ahmedabad felt warmer, several other locations in Gujarat recorded much chillier nights. The season's one of the lowest minimum temperatures was registered in Naliya, where the thermometer dipped to a cool 7°C. Other cities also felt the nip in the air:

  • Kandla recorded a minimum of 9°C.
  • Rajkot saw a low of 9.4°C.

This contrast highlights the varied weather patterns currently active within the state, with coastal and western regions experiencing cooler conditions compared to the city of Ahmedabad.

The IMD's forecast of rising minimum temperatures over the coming days points towards a gradual shift away from the colder night conditions experienced in some areas, potentially leading to more pleasant and warmer evenings across Gujarat.
