Chandrapur: Two young men were killed and two others suffered serious injuries following a collision between a motorcycle and a goods pickup vehicle on the Chandrapur-Nagpur highway near Nanduri Takli village in Warora tehsil on Sunday night.
Victims and Injuries
The motorcycle riders, identified as Mayur Hadke and Chandu Walde, both residents of Khamgaon, died on the spot after the high-impact crash that occurred around 8 pm. The pickup driver, Akshay There, and co-passenger Raghunath Dakhore of Ambhora also sustained injuries and were rushed to Warora sub-district hospital, where they remain under treatment.
Traffic Disruption and Local Concerns
The accident triggered massive traffic congestion on the busy highway, with vehicle queues stretching for kilometres and leaving commuters stranded for hours. Locals blamed ongoing road repair work, poor diversion planning, and inadequate barricading for increasing accident risks along the route.
Investigation Underway
Police conducted panchnama and sent the bodies for postmortem examination. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
