Jaipur: Parts of Rajasthan witnessed a brief respite from the scorching heat on Friday as dust storms, rainfall, and hailstorms were reported in several areas. Meanwhile, the western districts of the state continued to reel under severe temperatures above 42 degrees Celsius.

Temperature Highlights Across Rajasthan

According to the Meteorological Office, Barmer remained the hottest place in Rajasthan, recording a maximum temperature of 44.6 degrees Celsius. Other high readings included Bikaner at 44.2°C, Phalodi at 43.8°C, Jaisalmer at 43.5°C, Chittorgarh and Pali at 42.8°C each, Jodhpur city at 42.6°C, Churu at 42.3°C, Kota at 42.1°C, Bhilwara at 41.8°C, and Ajmer and Udaipur at 41.1°C each.

Reason for Weather Change in Eastern Rajasthan

The weather shift in eastern Rajasthan is being attributed to active western disturbances. Similar conditions are expected to persist until May 6, after which most parts of the state are likely to experience heat wave conditions.

Jaipur Weather Update

Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 40.0 degrees Celsius, slightly below normal, while the minimum settled at 21.2°C, significantly lower than the average. The city received 13.2 mm of rainfall, which helped bring down temperatures and led to relatively cooler evening conditions. The Met office has forecast partial cloud cover over Jaipur in the next 24 hours, with chances of thunder, lightning, gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph, and light rainfall at isolated locations.
