The Oman Society of Astronomy and Space (OSAS), in partnership with Muscat Municipality, is hosting a special community stargazing event. The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 4, and will run from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. It is designed as a completely free and accessible activity for the public. The main attractions for the evening are two of the sky's most recognizable objects. Attendees will get a chance to observe the December Full Moon, which will be a Supermoon. This means the moon will appear slightly larger and brighter than usual as it reaches its closest point to Earth in its orbit. Alongside the lunar spectacle, telescopes will be trained on the ringed planet, Saturn. This offers a rare opportunity for the public to clearly see Saturn and its iconic rings, a sight often reserved for images.

The stargazing session will be held at a popular green space in South Mabela, within the Seeb district. The location is known as the Green Walk or Green Park and Walkway.
