LUCKNOW: Hindu spiritual leader Jagadguru Rambhadracharya on Friday asserted that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) would have been reintegrated into India if Operation Sindoor had been extended by just two more days. He made this statement while addressing a gathering during the Shriram Katha in Lucknow, which was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
Operation Sindoor and Its Impact
Speaking at the event, Rambhadracharya lauded the military operation conducted in response to the Pahalgam terror attack. He stated, "Under Operation Sindoor, nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan were destroyed. Had the operation continued for another two days, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir would have been integrated with India." India launched Operation Sindoor in May 2025, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan after the April 2025 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives.
Guru Dakshina Demand
Rambhadracharya also recalled an interaction with Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, mentioning that when the officer offered to give him 'Guru Dakshina' at the time of his initiation, he requested only one thing: the return of PoK to India. He emphasized the significance of this demand in the context of national integrity.
Defence Minister's Role and Future Predictions
Referring to Rajnath Singh, who was present at the event, Rambhadracharya noted that the responsibility of protecting the nation rests on his shoulders as Defence Minister. The spiritual leader expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would return to power in 2029 and that Rajnath Singh would continue as Defence Minister. He urged the central government to grant central university status to Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Divyang State University and sought recognition of the Ramcharitmanas as a national scripture. "Ram is the symbol of the nation's welfare," he added.
Rajnath Singh's Remarks
Speaking at the event, Rajnath Singh said he had known Rambhadracharya for nearly three decades and praised his extraordinary memory and scholarship, describing his abilities as unmatched. The event highlighted the spiritual leader's continued influence and his vision for India's territorial integrity.
