The attack occurred in Minauhni village, where the infant was lying on a cot in the courtyard of her family home. Her mother was inside the kitchen preparing food at the time. According to local reports, the leopard entered the premises around 8 pm, seizing the baby in its jaws.
Upon noticing the attack, the mother raised an immediate alarm. This prompted the father and nearby villagers to rush to the scene. Startled by the sudden commotion, the leopard dropped the infant a short distance away before fleeing toward the nearby forest, as confirmed by locals to police authorities.

The critically injured baby was swiftly transported to the community health centre in Shivpura. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was subsequently referred to the district memorial hospital for advanced medical care.
