The Kedarnath Yatra, which was temporarily halted due to adverse weather conditions, has resumed as the weather improved significantly. Pilgrims who were stranded at various points have been allowed to continue their journey to the revered temple. The district administration, in coordination with disaster response teams, has ensured that the routes are safe for travel.
Weather Conditions Improve
After days of heavy rainfall and landslides, the weather in the Kedarnath region has cleared, making it possible for pilgrims to proceed. The meteorological department has forecasted stable weather for the next few days, which has brought relief to the authorities and devotees alike.
Safety Measures in Place
The Uttarakhand government has deployed additional personnel along the yatra route to assist pilgrims. Medical camps and shelters have been set up at key locations. Pilgrims are advised to carry warm clothing and necessary medicines. The administration has also urged everyone to follow safety guidelines and avoid venturing off the designated paths.
Pilgrims Express Relief
Many pilgrims, who had been waiting for the weather to clear, expressed their gratitude as the yatra resumed. "We were worried about the delay, but now we are happy to continue our journey," said a devotee from Maharashtra. The yatra, which is part of the Char Dham pilgrimage, attracts thousands of devotees every year.
The Kedarnath temple, located at an altitude of 3,583 meters, is one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism. The yatra season typically runs from April to November, with the temple closing for winter in November.
