A seminar organized by the Jeay Sindh Forum Muttahida (JSFM) in London marked the death anniversary of prominent Sindhi leader GM Syed. The event, held in the British capital, brought together activists and supporters who called for self-determination for the Sindhi people and the release of political prisoners in Sindh.
Demands for Self-Determination
Speakers at the seminar emphasized the historical struggle of Sindhis for self-rule. They reiterated that the right to self-determination is a fundamental principle recognized internationally. Participants criticized the Pakistani government for suppressing Sindhi identity and political aspirations.
Release of Political Prisoners
The seminar also focused on the plight of political prisoners in Sindh. Activists demanded the immediate release of all those detained for their political beliefs. They highlighted cases of individuals allegedly tortured or held without trial, calling for international attention to human rights violations in the region.
GM Syed, often referred to as the father of modern Sindhi nationalism, remains a symbol of resistance. His ideology continues to inspire movements for greater autonomy and rights for Sindhis. The JSFM seminar in London served as a platform to reaffirm these goals and mobilize the Sindhi diaspora.
