Snake Scare in Kozhikode: Five Venomous Reptiles Discovered Inside Home
In a terrifying incident in Kerala's Kozhikode district, a family discovered five venomous snakes inside their house, sparking panic and a subsequent search operation for any additional reptiles. The incident took place in a residential area, where the family members were startled to find the dangerous creatures in various parts of their home.
Common Krait Found Under Child's Pillow
Speaking to reporters, Rameshan, the homeowner, recounted the harrowing experience. He said that at around 7 am on Sunday, after his two children woke up, a common krait—a highly venomous snake—was found under their pillow. The discovery sent shockwaves through the family, who immediately alerted neighbors and local authorities.
Upon further inspection, a total of five venomous snakes were located inside the house. The species included the common krait, which is known for its potent neurotoxic venom, and other venomous varieties commonly found in the region. The snakes were found in different rooms, raising concerns about how they entered the premises.
Search Operation Underway
Following the discovery, a team of snake catchers and forest department officials was called to the scene. A thorough search of the house and its surroundings is currently underway to ensure no other snakes are hiding. The captured snakes have been safely removed and will be relocated to a forest area, as per standard procedures.
