Shimla is set to witness a significant enhancement in air connectivity as Alliance Air Aviation Limited resumes flight operations on the Delhi–Shimla–Delhi sector starting May 10. Additionally, services on the Shimla–Dharamshala–Shimla route will commence from May 11, marking a new chapter for regional aviation in Himachal Pradesh.
Resumption of Delhi-Shimla Flights
Flights between Delhi and Shimla had remained suspended since October last year. Their resumption is expected to strengthen both inter- and intra-state connectivity, giving fresh momentum to tourism and economic activities in the hill state. According to an official statement, Delhi–Shimla flights will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesday.
Flight Schedule Details
On Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, the flight will depart Delhi at 7:20 AM and arrive in Shimla at 8:35 AM. The return leg will leave Shimla at 11:30 AM and reach Delhi at 12:40 PM. On Saturdays, the departure from Delhi is scheduled at 7:50 AM, arriving in Shimla at 9:05 AM, with the return flight taking off at 12:00 PM and landing in Delhi at 1:10 PM. Sundays will see the flight depart Delhi at 6:20 AM and reach Shimla at 7:35 AM, while the return service will leave Shimla at 8:00 AM and arrive in Delhi at 9:10 AM.
Introduction of Shimla-Dharamshala Service
The Shimla–Dharamshala route will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. On weekdays, the flight will depart Shimla at 9:00 AM and reach Dharamshala at 9:50 AM, with the return flight leaving Dharamshala at 10:15 AM and landing in Shimla at 11:05 AM. On Saturdays, the Shimla–Dharamshala flight will take off at 9:30 AM and arrive at 10:20 AM, and the return service will depart Dharamshala at 10:45 AM and reach Shimla at 11:35 AM.
This development is expected to provide a major boost to tourism and business travel in the region, offering convenient connections to the national capital and within the state. Travelers can now plan their trips with greater flexibility and ease.
