Amritsar: Officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj, recently held an interactive session with Sikh youth at Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib in Takanini, Auckland, New Zealand. The event was organized by the New Zealand Sikh Youth, providing a platform for young members of the community to voice their concerns and seek clarifications on matters related to Sikh institutions, prevailing narratives against Sikhs, the Sikh code of conduct (maryada), Gurmat education, and religious preaching.
Youth Engagement and Awareness
During the session, the Jathedar addressed a range of questions posed by the participants. According to a release issued on Thursday, Giani Gargaj expressed his satisfaction with the high level of awareness and concern among Sikh youth regarding their religion and its institutions. He noted that the Sikh youth in New Zealand are actively involved in progressive and positive activities, and he expressed hope that they would continue to serve the community in accordance with Gurmat principles.

The Jathedar advised the youth to prioritize their education and strive for respectable positions in society, thereby contributing to the upliftment of the community. He emphasized the importance of unity, mutual support, and the learning of Gurmukhi Punjabi to maintain a distinct Sikh identity.
