At least 15 people were injured when a tempo traveller overturned in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district on Sunday. The accident took place near the Ghumarwin area, police said.
Accident Details
The tempo traveller was carrying passengers when it lost control and overturned on a sharp curve. The vehicle was heading towards Bilaspur from Ghumarwin. Locals rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured.
All injured individuals were taken to the Regional Hospital Bilaspur for treatment. Medical officials stated that most of the injuries are minor, but a few passengers have sustained fractures and are under observation.
Police Investigation
Police have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that over-speeding might have led to the loss of control. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on hilly roads.
This incident comes as a reminder of the risks on mountainous terrain, where sharp turns and narrow roads often contribute to accidents. Local administration has announced compensation for the injured.
