The meteorological department has issued a yellow warning for heatwave to severe heatwave conditions at isolated places in Una, Kangra, Mandi and Kullu districts on April 26.
Temperature Records
On Saturday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.4 degrees Celsius was recorded in Una, while the lowest minimum temperature of 6.1 degrees Celsius was reported at Kukumseri in Lahaul and Spiti district. The department has forecast no significant change in minimum and maximum temperatures across most parts of the state over the next two to three days.
Thunderstorm and Rain Forecast
Meanwhile, thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour, are likely at isolated places in Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla and Sirmaur districts on April 28 and 29. Light rain is expected at isolated places in the state on April 27 and May 1, with light to moderate rainfall likely between April 28 and 30. Dry weather is expected to prevail during the remaining days of next week.
