During the drill, teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), civil administration, police, health, and fire services participated in simulated rescue and relief operations. The drill covered multiple districts, focusing on areas prone to flooding, such as low-lying regions and riverbanks. Teams practiced evacuating residents from affected zones, setting up relief camps, and providing medical aid to injured individuals.
Key Objectives and Observations
The primary objective was to identify gaps in the existing response mechanism and improve coordination among agencies. Officials monitored the response time, communication channels, and resource deployment. The exercise also tested the functionality of early warning systems and the availability of essential supplies like boats, life jackets, and food packets.
According to a spokesperson from the disaster management department, the mock drill was successful in highlighting areas that require immediate attention. “We have noted the response times and logistical challenges.
