Documenting the World’s Largest Religious Gathering

Lucknow-based lawyer Govind Kumar Saxena has released a book documenting the planning, coordination, and technology-driven systems that powered Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj. The event, which saw a record influx of over 66 crore devotees, has emerged as a global model for handling mega public gatherings.

“Maha Kumbh was an example of successful crowd management, administrative coordination among multiple departments, traffic regulation, sanitation systems, security arrangements, digital monitoring and maintaining public order. The way it was planned and executed makes a case study for future management of large scale congregation across the world,” said Saxena at the launch of his book in Lucknow on Saturday.

Key Highlights from the Book Launch

Justice Sanjay Kumar Singh of Patna High Court, the chief guest at the event, remarked that Maha Kumbh reflects India’s cultural traditions and social harmony. He emphasized that structured documentation of such events can serve as a reference for future governance planning.
