Jharsuguda Police Bust Drug and Arms Syndicate

The Jharsuguda district police have successfully dismantled an inter-state narcotics and arms syndicate, resulting in the arrest of three individuals. According to police officials, a significant quantity of contraband ganja, a firearm, live ammunition, and Rs 4.87 lakh in cash—believed to be proceeds from illegal activities—were seized. The operation was carried out on Thursday, marking a major breakthrough in the fight against organized crime in the region.

Details of the Arrest

The accused have been identified as Md. Kamal, also known as Kamaluddin (32), and Suresh Singh (30), both residents of Bandhabahal, and Narendra Prasad Bais (22), a supplier originally from Singrauli district in Madhya Pradesh. Bais currently resides in Mahadevpada in Banharpali. The trio is believed to be part of a larger network involved in the clandestine transportation and distribution of ganja across industrial and residential areas of Jharsuguda.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities have launched a further investigation to trace other members of the syndicate and uncover the full extent of their operations. The police are also examining the seized materials to gather more evidence. This operation highlights the commitment of the Jharsuguda police to curbing illegal activities and ensuring public safety.
