The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has unveiled a series of powerful and advanced armoured platforms, marking a significant leap in India's next-generation warfare capabilities. The new platforms, showcased at a recent defence exhibition, include main battle tanks, infantry combat vehicles, and self-propelled howitzers, all equipped with state-of-the-art technology.

Infantry Combat Vehicle (ICV) Abhay
The ICV Abhay is a tracked armoured vehicle designed to transport infantry safely on the battlefield. It is equipped with a 30mm automatic cannon and anti-tank guided missiles. The vehicle offers high survivability through its modular armour and mine protection.
Self-Propelled Howitzer (SPH) K9 Vajra-T
The SPH K9 Vajra-T is a 155mm/52 calibre tracked howitzer with a range of over 40 kilometres. It features an automatic ammunition handling system, allowing a high rate of fire. The howitzer is capable of shoot-and-scoot operations, enhancing its survivability.

These platforms are expected to significantly bolster the Indian Army's mechanised forces.
