Realme GT 8 Pro Series India Launch: Price, Specs

Realme has significantly strengthened its position in India's premium smartphone market with the official launch of the Realme GT 8 Pro and Realme GT 8 Pro Dream Edition. This flagship duo brings cutting-edge technology to Indian consumers, featuring Qualcomm's latest 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, making the GT 8 Pro only the second device in the country to incorporate this powerful new system-on-chip after the OnePlus 15.

Pricing and Availability Details

The Realme GT 8 Pro starts at ₹72,999 for the base model with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, while the higher configuration boasting 16GB RAM and 512GB storage comes priced at ₹78,999. The special Dream Edition, which features an exclusive textured rear panel with Aston Martin-inspired design elements, is available in a single 16GB + 512GB variant at ₹79,999.

Both smartphones will become available for purchase starting November 25 through Flipkart and Realme's official website. Early buyers of the standard GT 8 Pro can take advantage of several launch offers including a free deco set, bank discounts reaching up to ₹5,000, and convenient six-month EMI options. The Dream Edition, while not featuring the same launch discounts, does include an extended 12-month EMI plan for easier purchasing.

Display and Design Innovations

The Realme GT 8 Pro showcases a 6.79-inch QHD+ BOE Q10 Flexible AMOLED display that delivers exceptional visual quality with its 144Hz refresh rate, HDR capabilities, and impressive peak brightness of 2,000 nits in High Brightness Mode. Protected by durable Gorilla Glass 7i, the screen covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and offers sharp 508ppi pixel density for crystal-clear content viewing.

One of the most innovative design features introduced in this series is the swappable rear camera module, allowing users to customize their device by choosing between three distinct camera island styles. This modular approach to smartphone design represents a first for the Realme GT series and adds a new dimension to personalization.

Performance and Camera Capabilities

At the heart of both devices lies the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of ultra-fast UFS 4.1 storage. The chipset achieves peak clock speeds of 4.60GHz and works in conjunction with an Adreno 840 GPU to handle demanding gaming sessions and intensive graphics workloads with ease.

The photography system receives significant attention with a Ricoh GR-tuned triple rear camera array led by a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor featuring optical image stabilization and a 22mm focal length. This is complemented by a 50MP ultrawide lens and a remarkable 200MP telephoto camera capable of delivering up to 120x digital zoom. For selfie enthusiasts and video calls, the device includes a 32MP front-facing camera, with video recording supported at up to 4K 60fps on the rear camera setup.

Battery and Additional Features

Powering the device is a substantial 7,000mAh battery supported by 120W SuperVOOC fast charging technology that ensures rapid top-ups when needed. Thermal management is handled by an extensive 7,000 sq mm vapour chamber cooling system that maintains optimal performance during extended usage periods.

The smartphone runs on Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16, offering features such as dual-view video, slow-motion capture, time-lapse photography, Google Lens integration, and panoramic shooting modes. Connectivity options are comprehensive, including 5G support, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, USB Type-C, and compatibility with major global satellite positioning systems including NavIC, BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, and QZSS.

Durability is another strong suit, with the device carrying IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for protection against dust and water, ensuring the smartphone can withstand various environmental conditions.
