OnePlus has officially pulled the wraps off its next performance-centric smartphone, the OnePlus Turbo 6, in China, setting a new benchmark for power and endurance in its portfolio. The device, which was previously teased by OnePlus China President Li Jie Louis for delivering 'terrifying performance, endurance, and gaming experience,' now has a confirmed launch date and a full suite of specifications that aim to thrill mobile gamers.
OnePlus Turbo 6: Key Specifications and Features
The OnePlus Turbo 6 is built around the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, the same chipset found in devices like the iQOO Neo 10 and Oppo K13 Turbo Pro. This is paired with fast LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for seamless multitasking and load times.
One of the biggest headlines is the inclusion of a massive 9000mAh battery, the largest ever seen in a OnePlus phone. It supports 80W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging and also offers 27W reverse wired charging to power other devices. The display is a 1.5K panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, putting to rest earlier rumors of a 144Hz screen.
For durability, the phone boasts the same IP68, IP69, and IP69K water and dust resistance ratings as the flagship OnePlus 15 series. Security is handled by an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. The design follows the new language from the OnePlus 13 series, featuring a squarish camera island with curved edges housing a dual-camera setup and a flash.
Camera and Design Details
On the camera front, the Turbo 6 sports a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens on the rear. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32MP front-facing camera. The right side houses the power button and volume rockers, while the left side is expected to feature the programmable 'Plus' key seen on recent OnePlus models.
The global version of the phone is anticipated to run on OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16. In China, the device will be available in White, Black, and Green colour options.
Launch Date and India Prospects
The OnePlus Turbo 6 will debut in China on January 8. While OnePlus has not officially confirmed an Indian launch, strong reports suggest it could arrive in the country rebranded as the OnePlus Nord 6.
A report from Android Headlines indicates that the global launch, including for India, could happen around early March, potentially coinciding with the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. If this holds true, Indian consumers can expect the high-performance gaming device to hit shelves soon after, possibly with different colour variations.
The launch of the Turbo 6 signifies OnePlus's continued push into the competitive performance-gaming smartphone segment, directly challenging rivals with its unmatched battery capacity and top-tier specs. Indian tech enthusiasts will be keenly watching for an official announcement regarding the Nord 6 variant.
