Motorola has officially unveiled its latest ultra-premium flagship smartphone, the Motorola Signature, along with the new moto watch powered by Polar, in the Indian market. This strategic move by the Lenovo-owned brand aims to deepen its penetration into the high-end segment, offering consumers cutting-edge technology and premium features.

Motorola Signature: A New Benchmark in Premium Smartphones

The Motorola Signature is positioned as the brand's most premium smartphone offering to date, with an effective starting price of Rs 54,999. The device emphasizes cameras, design, AI capabilities, and personalization, reflecting Motorola's commitment to delivering a tailored user experience.

Pricing and Availability

The smartphone will be available in three variants in India: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage at Rs 59,999, 16GB RAM with 512GB storage at Rs 64,999, and 16GB RAM with 1TB storage at Rs 69,999. It comes in two Pantone-certified color options: Pantone Carbon and Pantone Martini Olive. Sales will commence on January 30 through Flipkart, Motorola's official website, and select offline retail stores across the country.

To enhance affordability, Motorola is offering an instant bank discount of Rs 5,000 via HDFC and Axis banks, along with an exchange bonus of up to Rs 5,000, which can increase to Rs 7,500 for specific models.

Camera Excellence

The main highlight of the Motorola Signature is its advanced camera system. According to the company, it is India's top-ranked camera phone under Rs 1 lakh, backed by a DXOMARK Gold Label certification and a camera score of 164. The device features a triple 50MP Sony LYTIA camera setup, led by the Sony LYTIA 828 main sensor, which Motorola claims is the largest 50MP sensor currently available.

This camera system supports 8K Dolby Vision video recording, optical image stabilization, and Pantone-validated color accuracy. The rear array includes a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, along with a 50MP ultra-wide and macro camera. For selfies, there is a 50MP front camera capable of recording 4K video at 60fps.

Performance and Display

Under the hood, the Motorola Signature is powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options up to 1TB. To ensure sustained performance during gaming and AI-intensive tasks, the device incorporates an advanced vapor chamber and liquid metal cooling system.

The smartphone boasts a 6.8-inch Super HD Extreme AMOLED display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, and a peak brightness of 6,200 nits. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and features IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

Software and AI Features

Running on Android 16 with Motorola's Hello UI, the Signature promises seven years of Android OS updates and security patches. It also includes Motorola's moto ai 2.0 features, offering on-device AI tools for photography, productivity, and contextual assistance, with support for Google Gemini, Copilot, and Perplexity.

Moto Watch Powered by Polar

Alongside the smartphone, Motorola launched the moto watch powered by Polar, marking its latest foray into the wearables segment. This smartwatch features a 1.4-inch circular OLED display, an aluminium casing, dual-band GPS, and advanced health tracking powered by Polar's wellness platform.

It supports comprehensive health monitoring, including heart rate tracking, sleep analysis, SpO2 measurement, and recovery insights. The moto watch offers up to 13 days of battery life and is priced at Rs 5,999 for the silicone strap variant, with metal and leather strap options available at Rs 6,999.

This dual launch underscores Motorola's ambition to compete aggressively in India's premium smartphone and wearable markets, leveraging advanced technology and strategic partnerships to attract discerning consumers.
