Tirumala Laddu Sales Hit Record 1.21 Crore in May 2025

The sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala achieved record sales of its revered laddu prasadams as pilgrim numbers surged in May 2025. According to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) authorities, the temple prepared and sold 1.21 crore laddus during the month, with over 25 lakh devotees visiting the hill shrine.

Comparison with Previous Years

In May 2024, the sale of laddus stood at 1.01 crore, while May 2023 recorded 1.10 crore. The 2025 figure marks a significant increase of nearly 20 percent year-on-year, reflecting the growing devotion and footfall at the temple.

Measures to Manage Pilgrim Influx

TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary and his team implemented several measures to cope with the surge in pilgrim influx. One key initiative was maintaining a buffer stock of the laddu prasadam. While the average daily production and sale of laddus is typically around 3.5 lakh, TTD produced and sold over 4 lakh laddus daily in May 2025.

Chowdary stated that approximately 68 tons of raw materials were used in the preparation of over 4 lakh laddus and other sacred annaprasadams. This included 32 tons of sugar, 16 tons of gram flour, 16 tons of pure cow ghee, 3.5 tons of cashews, 2 tons of raisins, 400 kg of cardamom, and 800 kg of sugar candy.

Adherence to Traditional Standards

The temple strictly follows the traditional 'Dittam' standards in preparing the sacred laddu. 'Dittam' refers to the prescribed list of ingredients and their exact proportions for the sacred prasadams of Sri Venkateswara Swamy. These standards were approved by TTD in 1950-51 and are meticulously maintained.

With the introduction of several quality check parameters in line with FSSAI guidelines, the sacred Tirumala laddu symbolizes the perfect blend of quality, tradition, and devotion. It continues to showcase the spiritual grandeur of Tirumala, drawing millions of pilgrims each year.
